The Naturally Sweet Cup of Twinings Liquorice and Spearmint
A caffeine free liquorice and spearmint infusion, naturally sweet from the liquorice and fresh with mint. Brew it hot and give it a good steep.

This is a caffeine free herbal infusion where the liquorice root does something clever: it makes the cup taste sweet without any sugar, while the spearmint keeps it cool and fresh. It is an easy one to drink at any hour.

Being herbal rather than tea, it wants boiling water and a longer steep, around five minutes, to pull the flavour out fully.
You'll need
- 1 tea bag of Twinings Liquorice and Spearmint
- 200ml freshly boiled water (100C)
- Optional: a slice of lemon
Method
- Pour freshly boiled water at a full 100C over the bag. It can take the heat.
- Steep for a full 5 minutes to draw out the liquorice and the mint.
- Give the bag a gentle press and lift it out.
- Drink it as it is, or add a slice of lemon. There is no need for sugar; the liquorice handles that.
- Cover the cup while it steeps, to keep the spearmint aroma from escaping with the steam.
