Ginger Beer Style Spritz (Twinings Bioblends)

This makes a homemade ginger beer style fizz without any of the sugar of the bottled stuff. A strong, chilled brew of Twinings Bioblends Lemon, Ginger and Turmeric already has the ginger heat and lemon sharpness; all it needs is honey and a top of soda.

⏱ 10 min plus chilling 🍽 Makes 2 glasses 📊 Easy 📚 Tea Mocktails

You'll need

  • 3 tea bags of Twinings Bioblends Lemon, Ginger and Turmeric
  • 300ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 200ml chilled soda water
  • 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
  • A small piece of fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • Plenty of ice

Method

  1. Brew strong: steep the 3 bags in the boiled water for 6 minutes, then lift them out.
  2. Stir in the honey while warm, add the grated ginger if you want extra heat, then leave to cool and chill.
  3. Fill two tall glasses with ice and pour the chilled tea over, leaving room at the top.
  4. Add the juice of half the lemon, top each with chilled soda water, and stir gently.
  5. Finish with lemon slices and serve straight away.
  6. Grate in a little fresh ginger at the end for an even fierier kick.
What you'll end up with: A crisp, fiery long drink with real ginger heat and a sharp lemon edge, and no alcohol in sight.
