Cold Brew Tetley Pure Green Tea
No heat at all: steep one bag in cold water in the fridge for 4 to 8 hours for the sweetest, smoothest green tea you can make.

Cold Brew Tetley Pure Green Tea uses no heat at all, and that is the secret to the smoothest Green Tea you can make. Steeping slowly in cold water draws out the sweet, delicate compounds while leaving the harsh, bitter tannins behind, so the cup comes out naturally sweet with almost no astringency.

Serves one and takes about a minute of hands on work. It is also the gentlest method on caffeine, which makes it an easy all day drink. Set it going before bed or before work, and a perfectly smooth jug is waiting for you a few hours later.
You'll need
- 1 tea bag of Tetley Pure Green Tea
- 250ml cold, fresh water
- A lidded glass or small jug
- Optional: a slice of lemon or cucumber, or a sprig of mint
Method
- Drop one Tetley Pure Green Tea bag into 250ml of cold water in a glass or jug. Use no hot water at all.
- Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 8 hours. Overnight works well and is hard to overdo.
- Lift out the bag. The cold method pulls out the sweeter compounds and leaves the bitter tannins behind, so there is no need to time it to the minute.
- Pour over ice and add lemon, cucumber or mint if you like. Drink within 24 hours and keep it chilled.
- Scale it up in a big jug, one bag per 250ml, for a fridge batch through a hot week.
