The Standard Cup (Tropical Sun Cleanse)

An earthy dandelion and milk thistle cup brightened with lemongrass and ginger. Caffeine free, faintly bitter, good with lemon.

The Standard Cup (Tropical Sun Cleanse)

Tropical Sun Cleanse is a Caribbean style root blend, dandelion root and milk thistle with lemongrass and ginger. Brewed five minutes in just boiled water, the brew is earthy and faintly bitter from the roots, lifted by citrussy lemongrass and a little ginger heat. A slice of lemon brightens it further.

⏱ 6 min 🍽 Makes 1 mug 📊 Easy 📚 Fruit Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Tropical Sun Cleanse
  • 300ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • Honey, optional, to taste
  • A slice of lemon, optional

Method

  1. Pop the tea bag in your favourite mug.
  2. Pour over the freshly boiled water and leave to steep for 5 minutes so the root and ginger come through.
  3. Lift out the bag without squeezing it, to keep the earthiness rounded rather than sharp.
  4. Stir in a little honey and a slice of lemon if you like, to lift the citrus and soften the root note.
  5. Sip warm and enjoy as your morning cup.
  6. Let the cup cool for a minute before you sip; the earthy root note reads much warmer and rounder at around 65C than it does straight from the steep.
What you'll end up with: A caffeine free cup, earthy and lightly bitter from the roots, with lemongrass citrus and gentle ginger over the top.
