Brewing Twinings Buttermint (Peppermint and Butterscotch)

How to brew Twinings Buttermint: just boiled water and a good steep for a cool peppermint cup with a butterscotch note.

Brewing Twinings Buttermint (Peppermint And Butterscotch)

Twinings Buttermint is an unusual one: cool peppermint leaf with a sweet butterscotch note over the top, so it drinks more like a mint dessert than a plain herbal, and there is no caffeine in it. Give it a five minute steep in just boiled water to pull out both the mint and the butterscotch.

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Twinings Buttermint
  • 200ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • A splash of milk or a little honey, to taste (optional)

Method

  1. Pop the bag into your favourite cup or mug.
  2. Pour over the freshly boiled water.
  3. Steep for 5 minutes to draw out the peppermint and butterscotch.
  4. Lift out the bag, add a splash of milk or a little honey if you like, and enjoy.
  5. Keep the cup away from strong smelling food while it brews, as peppermint picks up other aromas easily.
What you'll end up with: A minty cup with a sweet butterscotch finish, like a mint dessert in a mug, caffeine free.
