About Taylors of Harrogate
Taylors of Harrogate was founded in 1886 by Charles Edward Taylor, a merchant who blended tea and coffee for Yorkshire. In 1962 the business joined Bettys Café Tea Rooms, which the Swiss confectioner Frederick Belmont had opened in Harrogate in 1919, and the family-owned Bettys & Taylors group went on to launch Yorkshire Tea in 1977.
Taylors marks each coffee with a roast number, and Hot Lava Java is a 6, the darkest in the range. The coffees come as whole beans, ground coffee and coffee bags that brew in a mug like a tea bag.
