"content_text": "KitKat 2 Finger Caramel: what the caramel changes, in summary: The two-finger KitKat with a caramel note in its milk chocolate coating. It rounds the sweetness rather than cutting it, so pair it with strong, unsweetened tea or an espresso and keep the box cool.\nLast reviewed by the teas.co.uk team in September 2026.\nCaramel is the flavour edition that changes the two-finger KitKat least: the wafer is untouched and only the coating turns deeper and rounder. That makes it the easiest to like, and the one that most needs a firm cup beside it.\nSame wafer, fuller sweetness \nEach bar is the usual layered wafer inside a full milk chocolate coating, with a caramel note carried in the chocolate. Caramel does not contrast with the sugar the way a spice would; it deepens it, adding a light burnt-sugar edge and making the sweetness feel fuller. The wafer underneath still gives the same clean snap, going from smooth coating to shattering layers in a single bite.\nEight bars are wrapped separately inside the 165.6g multipack, about 20.7g each, and that wrapper is the only brake on a bar this easy to eat. Because each one is sealed, opening the box does not start the others going stale. Store the pack cool, dry and out of the light, and keep it clear of strong smells, since chocolate soaks up kitchen odours.\nCaramel against the other KitKat flavours \nWe stock the two-finger in several editions, and they sort by how they treat the sweetness. Gingerbread brings a dry spice that pushes against the sugar, while Hazelnut lays a roasted nut note on top of it. Caramel does none of that; it simply lengthens what the plain milk bar already does. Anyone who finds chocolate wafer bars too sweet as a rule should reach for the gingerbread instead.\nKitKat itself began in York, where Rowntree's launched it in September 1935 as Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp, a four-finger bar born of an employee's idea for something that would fit in a lunch box. It took the KitKat name two years later, Nestl\u00e9 bought Rowntree's in 1988, and KitKat is still made in York. The two-finger keeps that lunchbox logic: one break, one bar, one cup.\nWhy it needs a strong cup \nNothing inside the bar checks the sweetness, so the drink has to. A strong black tea without sugar does it best: a well-brewed breakfast blend, with or without milk, cuts through the caramel and resets the palate between fingers. A short espresso does the same job from the coffee side. Anything sweetened, or a flavoured milky drink, simply piles sugar on sugar.\nDo not dunk it. Coating covers the whole bar, leaving the tea nothing to soak into, so a dunk only melts the outside and leaves a slick of chocolate floating on your drink. If it tastes heavy, it is probably warm, because caramel reads richer at room temperature. Ten minutes somewhere cool brings the snap back and lightens the whole bar.\nThe packs we stock \n\nKitKat 2 Finger Caramel Milk Chocolate Biscuit Bars Multipack, 8 Pack 165.6g (barcode 8445291584372)\n\nWhat to drink with it \n\nHyson Premium Breakfast Tea, 100 Tea Bags 180g: A brisk breakfast blend with enough grip to cut through the caramel sweetness.\nPG Tips English Breakfast Special Blends Speciality Black, 70 Tea Bags: A classic builder's brew, made strong and left unsweetened so the caramel has something to push against.\nYorkshire Tea Gold Blend Loose Leaf Tea, 250g: Brew it strong in a pot for a slower break with the whole bar.\nL'Or Espresso Ristretto Intensity 11 Coffee, 40 Pods 208g: A ristretto is short and concentrated, which is just what a sweet bar wants beside it.\n\nElsewhere in the KitKat range \nKitKat 2 Finger Chocolate Orange Biscuit Bars Multipack, 12 Pack 248.8gKitKat 2 Finger Cookie Dough Flavour Chocolate Bar Multipack, 8 Pack 165.6gKitKat 2 Finger Dark Chocolate Biscuit Bar Multipack, 8 Pack 165.6gKitKat 2 Finger Gingerbread Flavour Chocolate Biscuit Bar Multipack, 8 Pack 165.6gKitKat 2 Finger Hazelnut Flavour Chocolate Biscuit Bar Multipack, 8 Pack 165.6gKitKat 2 Finger Milk Chocolate Biscuit Bars Multipack, 18 Pack 372.6g\nThe full range is on the KitKat brand page.\nFAQ\nWhat does the caramel KitKat taste like? Like the milk chocolate two-finger with a rounder, deeper sweetness and a faint burnt-sugar edge in the coating.\nCan you dunk a caramel KitKat? Not usefully. The coating covers the whole bar, so a dunk melts the chocolate without ever reaching the wafer.\nIs the caramel KitKat sweeter than the gingerbread one? It reads sweeter, because caramel adds to the sugar where the gingerbread's dry spice works against it.\nWhat should I drink with a caramel KitKat? A strong, unsweetened black tea or an espresso. Avoid anything already sweetened.\nHow many bars does the caramel multipack hold? Eight, each wrapped separately, 165.6g in total.\nCurator's note: Brew the tea a minute longer than usual and leave the sugar out. The caramel does the sweet work, so let the cup do the cutting.
