## Description

The same teapot doesn't fit every month of the year. The cup that suits a winter evening is rarely the cup you want with breakfast in July. Seasonal taster packs are a small rotating selection assembled around what works for the current calendar moment, usually 4,6 different teas, all in modest quantities, sold as a single bundle for less than the sum of the parts.

The selection rotates every quarter. Here's what's typically in each.

Spring (March, May), bright, floral, fresh

The first flush season for Indian tea, when the lighter aromatic blacks and the new season greens come into stock. Spring bundles tend toward:

First flush Darjeeling, light, floral, almost wine like. The classic spring tea.
Jasmine green tea, scented with fresh jasmine flowers; pairs with the season.
Ceylon single estate, bright, citrussy, the brisker side of black tea.
Lemon balm or elderflower herbal infusions, for the warmer afternoons.
Sometimes a matcha for the morning energy slot.

Summer (June, August), iced, light, refreshing

Heat changes what you want from a cup. Summer selections often include:

Cold brew friendly green teas, sencha, gunpowder. Designed to be brewed cold overnight.
Hibiscus, naturally tart, brilliant chilled with a slice of lemon.
Peppermint, cooling whether served hot or cold.
Fruit blends, berry led, light, refreshing.
A light oolong, Tieguanyin or similar, for a summer afternoon cup.

For the cold brew technique, see our steeping times guide, cold brewing is just hot brewing with the time and temperature pulled to the opposite ends.

Autumn (September, November), warming, spiced, comforting

The transition season. Heavier teas start coming back into rotation.

Chai blends, masala chai with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves. The autumn workhorse.
Honeybush, South African, naturally honeyed, pairs with autumn evenings.
Second flush Darjeeling, the muscatel season, more body than first flush.
Pumpkin spice blends if we have them in stock, divisive but seasonal.
 Apple and cinnamon herbal infusions.

Winter (December, February), strong, malty, indulgent

Heavier, fuller bodied teas. Comfort cup season.

Assam single origin, full malt, takes milk well, the right tea for a December morning.
Russian Caravan or Lapsang Souchong, smoky, layered, distinct.
Pu erh, earthy, warming, the most "winter" of all teas.
Hot chocolate from Islands Chocolate, yes, not technically tea, but it earns its place in a winter selection.
A dessert tea blend, gingerbread, marzipan, vanilla, for the evening cuppa.

How the rotation works

The current pack ships with whatever's in season at the time of order. We refresh the selection at the start of each meteorological season (March 1, June 1, September 1, December 1). If you want to know exactly what's in the current pack before ordering, the contents are listed on the product page itself.

Seasonal packs aren't subscription based, you order one when you want one. If you'd like a standing order to receive a new pack each season, email us via contact and we'll set it up manually until we add a proper subscription option.

Pricing

Typically £15,22 depending on the quantities and whether premium teas are included. The bundle price is roughly 10% below the sum of the individual items. Free UK delivery applies above £35.
