Iced Decaf English Breakfast
teas.co.uk · 10 min + chill · Serves 4
You'll need
- 5 Teapigs Decaf English Breakfast tea temples
- 500ml just boiled water
- 500ml cold water
- Plenty of ice
- 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar or honey, optional
- Lemon slices and mint, to serve
Method
- Steep the 5 temples in 500ml just boiled water for 5 minutes. Extra strength and a slightly longer steep give decaf enough body to survive being iced and diluted.
- Lift out the temples and stir in the sugar or honey while the tea is hot, if using.
- Pour the hot concentrate immediately over a jug packed with ice. Crashing it cold fast keeps it clear instead of cloudy.
- Top up with the 500ml cold water and stir.
- Serve in ice filled glasses with lemon and mint. Because it is decaf, this is a genuine evening and late afternoon drink.
- Keeps in the fridge for 2 days; refresh with ice rather than more water.
