The Standard Cleanse Cup

You'll need
- 1 Teapigs Cleanse tea temple
- 250ml water, boiled then cooled to about 80C
- A thin slice of lemon, optional
- A little honey, optional
Method
- Boil fresh water and let it cool 2 to 3 minutes to about 80C; the green base in this blend turns bitter if hit with boiling water.
- Put the temple in the mug and pour the cooled water over it.
- Cover and steep 4 minutes, a little longer than plain green tea, so the fennel and nettle side has time to come through behind the green.
- Lift the bag out without squeezing.
- Taste; a slice of lemon brightens the herbal notes and a little honey rounds the savoury edge if you prefer it softer.
