Honey, Lemon and Ginger Green Tea
teas.co.uk · 8 min · Serves 1
You'll need
- 2 Dalgety Moringa with Green Tea bags
- 300ml freshly drawn water, brought to a rolling boil then left for 2 minutes to drop to about 80C
- 2 fresh ginger root coins, peeled and gently crushed (about 15g)
- 1 tablespoon of clear runny honey
- 30ml fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
- 1 warmed 300ml cup
Method
- Warm a mug with hot water, then tip it out.
- Boil 300ml of water and let it stand for a couple of minutes to settle to around 80C.
- Put two tea bags and two crushed ginger coins in the mug and pour the water over them.
- Cover with a saucer and leave to steep for three minutes.
- Lift out the bags without pressing them, then spoon out the ginger.
- Stir in the honey while the tea is hot, then squeeze in the lemon once the mug is off the boil.
- Add the lemon right at the end rather than during the steep, as hot water dulls the fresh citrus.
