Pomegranate Green Tea Gin and Tonic
teas.co.uk · 10 min plus chilling · Makes 2 glasses
You'll need
- 2 tea bags of Twinings Pomegranate Green Tea
- 150ml freshly boiled water, cooled to around 80C (check with a thermometer)
- 50ml gin
- 200ml chilled tonic water
- 1 lime, half juiced and half sliced
- A handful of pomegranate seeds, to garnish
- Plenty of ice
Method
- Pomegranate green tea likes water rested about a minute off the boil: steep the 2 bags 3 minutes, lift them out without squeezing, then chill.
- Split the chilled pomegranate tea and the gin between two glasses heaped with ice.
- Top with chilled tonic water and add the lime juice.
- Stir gently, finish with lime slices and pomegranate seeds, and serve straight away.
- A sloe gin mixed 50:50 with a London Dry works well; the berry character bridges the botanicals and the tart pomegranate naturally.
