How to Brew Vanilla and Caramel Tea

Method

  1. Warm your mug with a little hot water and tip it out.
  2. Pour in 250ml of water straight off the boil.
  3. Add the tea bag, cover with a saucer to hold the aroma in, and leave for four minutes.
  4. Lift the bag out, giving it a gentle press against the side rather than a hard squeeze, which can turn it bitter.
  5. Stir in a small splash of cold milk, just enough to soften the colour.
  6. Tip: taste before adding anything sweet, as the caramel usually does the job on its own.
